Opportunity for a Java Developer to join a Fintech company that provide Online mortgage service with real brokers. The application has made getting a mortgage much more simple. Ie: No more trips to the bank, no boring meetings and definitely no messy paperwork.

They are currently looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to help highlight & promote how technical solutions can drive the business forward. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving their technology offering whilst developing and managing the development team. Ideally you have worked with the most up to date Java and come from either a Fullstack background or just java focused. You will work with the senior leadership team and be involved with tech innovation and product development.

What the role involves?

  • Build and maintain the business’ websites and systems to the highest possible standard
  • Work collaboratively as part of an agile team to deliver business value
  • Contribute to the team goals beyond developing the systems (for example, taking on additional responsibilities)
  • Help design, build & maintain the underlying technical infrastructure that supports the business’ systems
  • Support & mentor your colleagues
  • Use your full experience to help shape the future of the business and the products developed

Essential skills:

  • 4+ years work experience developing Java software and web applications
  • Strong experience developing Java 11+ webapps
  • Knowledge of relational databases & SQL operations.
  • Experience in designing RESTful APIs and integrating to various other API protocols
  • Experience with setup and management of Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Node,
  • Solid experience using common Object-Oriented design patterns
  • Knowledge of importance of secure coding practices
  • Able to write clear and accurate technical documentation for internal use.
  • Experience with Git or other similar SCM

Desirable:

  • Strong experience of web libraries & frameworks, particularly TypeScript & Angular (2+)
  • Experience in design and implementation of microservices architectures
  • Experience in Cloud and containerisation technology as well as Serverless, preferably in the AWS environment

Role is 100% remote and paying £80,000
